Pop-Up pantry food giveaways planned for Sebewaing, Port Austin

The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan will be sponsoring a pair of pop-up food pantries next week.

The first distribution will be on Tuesday in Port Austin at St. Michael Church, 8661 Independence Ave. The event starts at 10 a.m.

The drive-through raffle for Essen on Wednesday will take place in Sebewaing at Sons Life Missionary Church, 1 W. Main St., on Wednesday, August 11th at 10am

The food is distributed according to the “first come, first served” principle. The stock is limited. The raffle is free and open to everyone.

Mark Birdsall has been the Sports Editor for the Huron Daily Tribune since July 2019.

Prior to joining the Tribune, Mark was night editor for Cadillac News, where he also helped the sports department on busy high school soccer and basketball evenings. He previously worked for the Holland Sentinel and the Greenville Daily News.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in print journalism from Grand Valley State University, where he was editor of the student newspaper The Lanthorn.

Mark is from Bay City and is an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Michigan State Spartans, and Chicago Cubs. He is also a movie buff and enjoys fishing in his spare time.
