First published in 2011, the State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report will be released during a Zoom webinar starting at 11:30 am. Prior registration is required for the event.

Mervin Jebaraj, the center’s director, will outline the economic highs in the State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report, and share economic data and insights into the affordability of regional housing and the ongoing impact of the pandemic.

The State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report is considered one of the best indicators of the region’s economy when compared to similar regions such as Madison, Wisconsin; Raleigh, North Carolina; Provo-Orem, Utah; Des Moines, Iowa; and Austin, Texas.

Nelson Peacock, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Arkansas Council, will announce the efforts of the Workforce Housing Center, announced earlier this year, to improve housing affordability in the area. Through a unique collaboration with community partners, the center works to develop a strategic plan specifically tailored to the needs and priorities of housing. It promotes residential development in the vicinity of job centers, lifestyle facilities, city centers, bus stops as well as cycle and pedestrian paths.
