It’s Halloween weekend, and all over Central New York, people are putting the finishing touches to their costumes and preparing for the big day.
This weekend features spooky, spooky and fun events for all ages across the region.
Experience a “spooky” classical music concert by Symphoria, take a cemetery tour in Oswego, take a costumed bike tour of downtown Syracuse, and start your trick or treat with a ride through Onondaga Community College.

OCC drive-through trick-or-treating
Onondaga Community College and the Southwest YMCA invite families to a drive-through trick or treating event on Sunday. From 1pm to 2:30 pm, “dress up and mask yourself” and drive down campus for goodies from local businesses and organizations that line the street. Enter the main entrance on Route 175. The event is free.

Witch ball
The Landmark Theater is hosting CNY’s inaugural Witches Ball on Saturday night. Presented by the Witches and Pagans of CNY and sponsored by the Sabbath Project, the theme of the evening is Spiritualism of the 1920s. There is food, music, actors and a costume competition. Head to the Witches Market on the second floor to shop for authentic witch items, or downstairs in the Walnut Room, where the Psychosalon carries messages from talented local readers. An authentic witch ritual is performed by Jeff Cullen of The Vodou Store. The event is aimed at people aged 21 and over. The tickets are limited. #SYR FoodTrucks Truck or Treat
On Saturday, the food truck season comes to an end in the parking lot of the Great Northern Mall. There will be 20 locally owned food trucks and Halloween costume contests and candy for children. Toss & Fire Wood-Oven Pizza, Nikkis Cupcake Creations, Cafe Jarosz Food Truck and Byblos Street Grill are just a few of the trucks that will be attending. As you wish Halloween Bash
Syracuse’s Sky Armory will be a one-of-a-kind Halloween event for children presented by As You Wish Entertainment. There will be activities for the kids, storytelling hours, live sketch and performances, dance floor, food and drink for sale, crafts and activities, treasure keepsakes and much more. There are two shows on Friday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $ 35.99, except for children 12 and under who can enter for free. “You design it, we do it”
The Corning Museum of Glass is hosting a fun Halloween event this Sunday. For weeks, the museum has been asking for public submissions for a new creepy character and ideas for what to do with All Hallows Eve. (You still have the option to submit your drawing. It will be accepted until Thursday noon. Go to www.cmog.org/glassmaking/you-design-it-we-make-it) The new ghoul or ghost will come to you during life a live stream demonstration on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The stream will later be uploaded to the museum’s YouTube page.

Syracuse Bike Party Costume Edition
The Syracuse Bike Party invites you to Clinton Square on Saturday evening for a bike ride in your favorite Halloween costume. Put on your “most terrible clothes” to win first place in a classic costume contest. The event starts at 6.45 p.m. and is free. Be sure to bring your bike light.

Ghost and History Storytelling Tour
Come Friday evening to the Oswego Town Rural Cemetery for a “Ghost and History Storytelling Tour”. Directed by Professor Joel Langenfeld and performed by the SUNY Oswego Storytelling Class, the tour will include costumed actors presenting the stories of Edward Austin Sheldon, Dr. Mary Walker, Harriet Tubman, Queen Lili’uokalni Kamaka’eha and many more tell. The event is free and starts at 6 p.m., rain or shine. Please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella. It starts at 18 o’clock. No tickets are required.

Creepy symphories
One of Symphoria’s most popular traditions is the annual Halloween concert for children. It returns in person and virtual this Saturday morning with spooky classical music and family-friendly activities. The costume parade was canceled due to Covid. Syracuse versus Boston College
After SU’s exciting win at Virginia Tech on Saturday, hope is back that the Orange could make a late push for a bowl game. The team will battle longtime rival Boston College in the Carrier Dome on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available at cuse.com.

“The one-act act that goes wrong”
The Broadway and London comedy smash debuts in Central New York at the Le Moyne College Department of Visual and Performing Arts. It debuts Friday and Saturday nights. The play is about the opening night of “The Murder at Haversham Manor,” when things “go from bad to catastrophic quickly,” with an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that cannot play dead, and actors tripping over anything including their lines. Halloween Trick or Treat Drive Boo
Get a trick or a treat on Sunday afternoon with Halloween “Drive Boo” in Goettel Park on Central Square. Last year around 400 children came to the drive-thru where local businesses and organizations hand out goodies. The free event runs from 1pm to 1pm “Come on dressed and ready to be scary.”

Halloween most
Visit the “creepy science stations” of the MOST throughout the museum throughout the weekend. Costumes are very desirable for activities, games, giveaways, and more. There will be a candy station, temporary tattoos, a boo bubbles demonstration and much more. Halloween fun is free with museum admission.

Former Syracuse University basketball star Erich Santifer, who played for Orange from 1979 to 83 and finished his career as the school’s second-best scorer, tells the story of his life in a new book called “Everyday God, Promises Made, Promises Kept!” He will sign the book on Friday from 3 to 3 p.m. in the SU bookshop. Carnage in the Wunderbar
Come to the Wunderbar on Saturday night for the Halloween party you’ve been looking for. The theme for this “Blood Bath” party is “RED, RED, RED” so “put together a look that screams Scarlet, Ruby Cherry and Blood” for a night of dance, themed cocktails and drag. A DJ will play music from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. There is a $ 5 cover and is suitable for people 21 years and older. A Covid vaccination is required.

“Syracuse, we’re back!” Sellers from across the Northeast will come to the Ramada Inn in Liverpool for a record and CD fair on Sunday. Search over 100,000 records, CDs, 45s, 78s and DVDs from all genres of music. Free entry to the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., earlier entry of $ 5 from 8 a.m. Masks are highly recommended.
