Hopefully you are hungry – and thirsty! The Austin Food + Wine Festival is excited to return to the capital this weekend. Here are a few highlights to look forward to on the 2021 iteration.
Additional dinners – Thursday and Friday evenings, at different times and in different locations
While the weekend and all-in tickets for the Austin Food + Wine Festival are already sold out, tickets are still available for some of the additional dinners, including the AFW Fest x Lutie dinners (Thursday, November 16, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.: 30 p.m.). , 175 USD per person) and the AFW Fest x Canje Dinner (Friday, November 5th, 6 pm-9pm, 200 USD per person).
Demo tents – Saturday and Sunday, different times, Auditorium Shores
See some of ATX’s glowing culinary stars in action in the demo tent. Outstanding are Jam Sanitchat from Thai Fresh and Gati Ice Creams (Saturday, 11:45 pm-12:15pm), Fermín Núñez from Suerte (Saturday, 12:45 pm-1:15pm) and Yoshi Okai from Otoko (Sunday, 12 noon) . : 45-13: 15 pm).
Bitter Speed Dating – Saturday, 11:30 am, Auditorium Shores
Gulp, gulp, hurray! Amaro Montenegro hosts a “whirlwind intro” to Amaro and bittersweet cocktails at this spirited tasting. Throughout the weekend, the Digestif brand will be presenting Bar Monte, a traveling pop-up bar that mimics Italian bar culture with café-like seating. The pop-up bar will also feature lawn games like bocce and cornhole.
Rock Your Taco – Saturday, 7-9.30pm, Republic Square Park
Can’t get enough of these tortilla-wrapped treasures? You’re lucky! At this Saturday night get-together in Republic Square Park, guests can sample delicious taco selections from 12 local chefs and vote for their favorite one. The event also includes beer, wine, and cocktails.
Fire tent – Sunday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Auditorium shore
While the fire tent is open on Saturday and Sunday, we’re especially looking forward to sampling the canapés from the chefs presented on Sunday: Sonya Coté (Hillside Farmacy, Eden East), Tom Micklethwait & Ren Garcia (Micklethwait Craft Meats) and Marco Oglesby ( The Switch Grilling).
