The eagerly anticipated Xbox E3 showcase on Sunday evening was a blockbuster event. For the first time, Xbox and Bethesda (Microsoft now owns the company behind successful franchises like Doom and Fallout) shared the stage. There were plenty of game announcements jammed into the 90-minute run of the event, and there’s a lot to talk about. From the Bethesda franchise “Starfield” to “Halo Infinite”, here’s a rundown of the show’s biggest announcements.
Star field
Xbox opened its E3 showcase with Bethesda’s Starfield, a brand new role-playing game for the space odyssey. The trailer for Starfield doesn’t reveal much, but it does know that the game is “an epic – about hope, our common humanity and the answer to our greatest mystery.” Starfield will be released on November 11, 2022 exclusively for Xbox Series X and Windows PC. The game will also be available for Xbox Game Pass.
Halo infinite
We had pretty much an idea that Microsoft would reveal more information about Halo Infinite at E3 2021. And the company has shown in a new trailer what to expect from the highly anticipated science fiction shooter. Microsoft hasn’t revealed too many details about the game, but has confirmed the release date along with a free multiplayer mode. The company has confirmed that the Xbox-exclusive Halo Infinite will arrive during the holiday season.
Redfall
Redfall is a new Xbox exclusive game developed by Arkane Studio in Austin, Texas. A new co-op vampire killing game slated to hit the market in 2022 has a retro vibe in the style of Stranger Things. It can be played solo or cooperatively. Redfall will be available exclusively for the Xbox Series X / S as well as for the PC. And yes, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Forza Horizon 5
During its E3 showcase, Microsoft finally revealed Forza Horizon 5. This great racing game is set in Mexico and will be released on November 9th. The open-world hit comes to the Game Pass on the first day.
Battlefield 2042
EA and DICE officially unveiled Battlefield 2042 last week. But during Xbox’s E3 presentation, the first gameplay trailer was revealed. Battlefield 2042, while not exclusive to Xbox, will be released on October 22nd.
Xbox mini fridge
Yes, it is true. An Xbox series X-shaped mini fridge is set to hit retail shelves this holiday season. It all started as memes on the internet, but Microsoft is making the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge a reality. As you can see in the reveal trailer, the refrigerator has the Xbox logo in a corner on the outside and is green on the inside. Driven by the “Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture”, the refrigerator can keep around 10 cans of a selected beverage cold. However, the selling price is still unknown.
