In addition to her work at APS, Dr. Sanchez Clinical Affiliate Professor at UT-Dell Medical School. She can also be found on the staff at North Austin Children’s Hospital and St. David’s Main Hospital, where she provides complex neonatal surgical care. She is also the lead surgeon for the Dell Children’s Intestinal Rehabilitation Program.

Her strong belief in injury prevention spawned the first Austin Injury Prevention Program and Children’s Education and Community Resource Center. In 2006 her “Boost Now! Join the Buckleteers, a booster seat program to increase the use of booster seats for children, received national recognition.

She then completed her training in general surgery at the State University of New York in 1998 and a Pediatric Trauma and Research Fellowship to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1999. After completing her fellowship, she returned to New York in 2001 to complete a degree in pediatric surgery at the State University of New York.
The Texas-licensed physician is certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) in general and pediatric surgery. ABS is an independent, not-for-profit organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was founded with the aim of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge.
