Hello Austin! It’s time to leave the ceiling fortress at home and head to Lady Bird Johnson’s Wildflower Center for her annual Fortlandia.

Fortlandia is an interactive outdoor exhibition of fortresses by local artists, architects and designers.

There are several innovative and interactive forts that run along the 1 mile (1.6 km) trail of the Texas Arboretum. Be sure to visit the Fort Build area where you can build your own fortress using natural and recycled materials!

But that’s not all!

It may be a fortress for everyone during the day, but soon you will be able to watch it turn into luminations at night! In addition to the light-flooded forts of Fortlandia, experience the natural wonders of winter with lights.

Don’t sleep on it! While Fortlandia is currently open, the luminations will begin on December 2nd. Both will remain open until January 30th. Find more information and book your reservations here.
