Fifth & West Residences, Austin’s 39-story luxury tower currently under construction, has nearly peaked as the delivery date approaches. The iconic triangular housing project is being marketed as “Built in Austin by Austinites whose roots are deep in Texas”.
“Our buyers are excited about the topping-out ceremony,” said Niki Piersall, Vice President of McWilliams Ballard, who heads sales for development, in prepared comments. “When owners and potential buyers are shown around the building, they can enjoy expansive hill country and downtown views and immerse themselves in the only brand new downtown luxury condominium that will be ready for occupancy this year.”
The residential tower is located at 501 West Ave., southwest of the state capital in downtown Austin. Prospective residents can choose between one to four-room floor plans, each with large windows, spacious closets and pantries. The condominium tower is an exclusive, low-density building (154 apartments) with no connection to hotel, retail or other commercial areas and is already almost 70 percent occupied.
Life in the city center rethought
Fifth & West is the product of a collaboration between developer Riverside Resources, GDA Architects, Michael Hsu Office of Architecture and The Carlyle Group and reinterprets the idea of luxury living in the city center. Resident amenities include yoga and fitness studios, a 24-hour concierge service, an extensive pet area, conference rooms, a resident lounge, and a sky deck. Additionally, thanks to the building’s triangular shape and location in the Capitol View Corridor – a collection of 30 protected views of the historic Texas State Capitol – Fifth & West also offers a 315-degree view.
“A high-rise residential building strongly leans towards homeowners,” was the guiding principle of the architecture office Michael Hsu for the interior design of the tower. Residents and their guests can choose the proximity or distance they need between themselves and their neighbors. Additionally, the materials used are natural and include woodwork, brass details, marble walls, quartz countertops, and white oak floors.
