Dean F. Paschke, 84
Dean Francis Paschke, 84 years old, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, September 30th, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Austin. Dean was born on August 4, 1937, in his parents’ home in Fairfax, Minnesota, to Alfred and Marjorie (Dahlgren) Paschke. After graduating from Fairfax High School in 1955, Dean attended hairdressing school in Minneapolis. After completing the course, he was drafted into the US Army. He was married to Fern Scharfencamp of Morgan, Minnesota, in 1957. In 1959 they moved to Austin, Minnesota, where Dean worked until 1970 and then worked as a farmer until his retirement in 2000. Dean was a member of the Red Rock Township Board, First Farmers and Merchants Bank Advisory Board, was a member of the Hayfield American Legion Post 330, and sang with the Legion Chorus. Dean was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. He loved working in the garden, going for walks, and playing the piano. He had a big heart for those who lived hard lives. He is much regretted. Blessed be his memory.
Dean leaves behind his 64-year-old, loving wife Fern Paschke; Daughters Judy (Rod) Garness and Jean (Randy) Pfiefer; Grandson, Krystle (James McKinley) Garness, Anthony (Linnea) Garness, Matt Garness, Jake (Abbey) Garness, Kayla (Andrew) Drill, Trenton Pfiefer, Austin Pfiefer, and Nathaniel Pfiefer; three great-grandchildren, Logan Bohrer, Ryan Bohrer and Avery Garness. In death his parents Alfred and Marjorie Paschke preceded him.
A Christian burial mass will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Austin. The tour takes place on Friday, October 8th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, Minnesota. Monuments are preferred to the Salvation Army or a local grocery shelf. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin supports the family with the arrangements.
