“I love the nutritional value of eggs, but I haven’t been able to eat them since high school,” explains Ekeler. “Well, now I’ll just crack them and toss them in my smoothies.”
A typical lunch for the NFL player might be a diced chicken with white rice and a vegetable mix of peas, cauliflower, carrots and broccoli. To give it a little flavor and spice, he adds a little Szechuan sauce. To keep it simple, dinner could be a remix of the day’s lunch. So disgusting could take the leftover chicken and use it in a sandwich with a little barbecue sauce. He admits he doesn’t get bored of eating similar meals in a row as long as he can switch spices, it feels different.
But don’t worry, he definitely likes to keep all options open on a Cheat Day. He could eat pizza, wings, or his fast-food jam: Taco Bell. Ekeler’s philosophy is that if you do everything reasonable and exercise consistently, you can replace one of those healthy meals with a junk food meal every now and then.
As for dietary supplements, the athlete doesn’t actually take any.
“I’ve tried them, but I haven’t seen any more results than just eating regular food,” Disgust said. “So I don’t need that in my diet because I get all of my food from food.”
