Hormel Foods Corporation today announced the release of its 15th annual Corporate Responsibility (CR) report. The report, which is available online at https://csr.hormelfoods.com/, provides detailed information on the company’s CR progress in fiscal 2020. In addition, the company has launched new CR goals to complement its programs to lead by 2030.

Further highlights of the company’s development in 2020 are:

• Implemented projects to reduce water use by 119 million gallons, energy use by more than 98,000 MMBtu, and product packaging by over 533,000 pounds.

• Conducted more than 1,900 audits to ensure the company’s high standards of animal care are being met. In addition, the company published its first Antibiotic Stewardship Report in January 2021, which provides comprehensive, detailed and transparent information about the company’s antibiotic stewardship program and metrics of some farms in its supply chain over the past few years.

• Launch of over 500 new retail and hospitality items. The company also continued its clean label initiative to simplify ingredient claims in many of its products and its sodium reduction efforts.

• Continue to place great emphasis on efforts to promote inclusion and diversity.

• Keeping his promise to cultivate a safety culture by holding a KEEP COVID OUT! Campaign.

• Donate more than $ 8.2 million in cash and products to empower communities. These included donations of $ 6.4 million to fight hunger, a donation of 1.9 million cans of SPAMMY (a long-life poultry product used to prevent malnutrition in children in Guatemala), and more than $ 1 million in educational donations .
