AUSTIN, Texas – The Portland Timbers lost 3-1 to Austin FC at Q2 on Saturday night. For Portland, midfielder Dairon scored Asprilla, who scored his fifth record of the 2021 season.

46 ‘- CHANCE (POR) – Portland’s Sebastián Blanco, who joined on at halftime, slid a ball through Austin’s defensive chain for Yimmi Chara. Chara made it to the end line and kicked a ball back into the center, but Blanco’s one-off shot went wide.

50 ‘- SAVE (POR) – Driussi (Austin) fired a shot from the edge of the Timbers’ 18-yard space, but Clark quickly made a right to block the shot.

55 ‘- TOR (POR) – Portland scored a goal back when Asprilla took a thunderous shot from the top of the box from Austin, defeating Stuver in the bottom corner. The goal was prepared when Larry’s Mabiala stepped forward to win a ball in midfield. He then played it to Diego Chara, who in turn jumped a pass forward to Asprilla.

60 ‘- CHANCE (POR) – Timbers held up the pressure as Blanco headed down a cross from Yimmi Chara towards the bottom corner, but Stuver parried the ball to throw it away.

The Portland Timbers will travel north to play Seattle Sounders FC as part of MLS Heineken Rivalry Week (7:30 p.m. PT, ESPN) on Sunday, August 29th.
