A shop selling clothes and accessories by Austin and Egyptian fashion designers opened in downtown on December 5th.

The ATX + Egypt Fashion Pop-Up is a project of the US Embassy in Cairo, the Austin Department of Economic Development, the ACC Fashion Incubator, Fashion By Texas, Macy’s and the Egyptian online retailer La Reina.

The store at 225 W. Second St. sells goods such as clothing, jewelry, bags and leather products by designers from the ATX + Egypt Entrepreneurship Program.

“This pop-up store is a great opportunity to support Austin’s fashion designers over the holiday season,” said Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, associate director of Austin Economic Development, in a press release. “The store also offers fashion designers from Cairo the opportunity to tap into the US market.”

A pop-up store in Egypt will sell items by Austin fashion designers in February.

The shop is open from December 5 to 20, Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m.
