Yotta Energy Partners With EcoBuild on Multiple Commercial Solar + Storage Projects in Louisiana | Louisiana
[ad_1]
BATON ROUGE, La. and Austin, Texas, September 30, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – While Louisiana is looking for solar and energy storage to increase its resilience to power outages caused by hurricanes and other extreme weather events, Yotta Energy is collaborating Louisiana-based commercial solar installer EcoBuild. The companies are working together to provide distributed energy resources for new and retrofitted energy storage solutions across the region. With more than 12 projects in the pipeline at locations like car dealerships, grocery stores and hotels, EcoBuild and Yotta aim to give companies better control over their energy bills year round, especially during critical power outages.
“Yotta Energy has been a great partner who helped us scale our market. We appreciate the ease with which Yotta’s solution is deployed, ”said Richard Carroll, Co-owner of EcoBuild.
The first installation for the partnership is for one of the country’s leading roofing companies, Premier South, at its headquarters in Baton Rouge. The building, which houses a large part of the company’s employees and commercial roofing companies, now houses a solar and storage system on the roof, consisting of solar panels, energy storage and a 125 kW generator, which will set up the microgrid in the event of a failure. In addition, EcoBuild is installing three electric vehicle (EV) chargers to fuel Premier’s future fleet of 30 vehicles. Some of the vehicles included are Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Trucks and GMC Hummer EV pickups. The system is expected to provide 100 percent of the building’s electricity load, including the energy needed to charge electric vehicles. Once installed, Premier South can expect a payback period of less than five years.
“When a disaster strikes, it is imperative that our lights remain on and the roofing services remain active,” said RJ McGimsey of Premier South. “This Solar Plus storage system is a worthwhile investment that saves us energy costs all year round and enables us to electrify our vehicle fleet without the costs of an extensive battery system outside the building.”
Yotta’s PV-coupled architectural solution Yotta SolarLeaf ™ is a fully integrated energy storage device that fits perfectly behind every photovoltaic module (PV) in a solar system. The solution can easily be used for solar self-consumption, time-based control and peak energy savings, so that customers can achieve energy savings and achieve independence from the grid. The device enables a distributed and scalable format while maximizing battery life and performance in extreme weather conditions due to its thermoregulatory technology.
With reports suggesting that storms are getting worse due to warmer weather, many states in tropical zones are looking for alternative power solutions. The Yotta Energy storage system is designed for the strict wind requirements.
“From the Baton Rouge Area, I have strong connections with communities that are frequently involved in life-changing weather events, “said Yotta CEO, Omeed Badkoobeh. “We are excited to be working with EcoBuild to use this technology in rebuilding the state. We expect that resilience and cost savings from distributed energy resources will drive adoption and eventually move us away from obsolete energy sources. “
Yotta, EcoBuild and Premier South host a launch event for the project on 30. September.
