About 10,000 people are affected by the counseling.
AUSTIN, Texas – All residents and businesses in western Travis County are requested to boil their water prior to consumption. A water leak was found at a pumping station.
According to a Travis County Water District 10 press release dated Nov. 12, the boiling water notice affects people in the City of West Lake Hills and major Westwood subdistricts, Rolling Hills West, Knollwood, Westlake Highlands, Sundown Parkway, Camelot and the Original Rob Roy Ranch.
This affects around 3,000 residential and business accounts at the Wasserkreis, which corresponds to around 10,000 people.
The message about boiling water comes after a broken water pipe at the McConnell pumping station on Friday morning. The leak has stopped and now the crews are working to fix it. Since the crews are not sure which houses and businesses are affected by the break, everyone in the water district is subject to a precautionary notice about boiling water.
If under a boiling water notice, you should boil tap water vigorously for at least two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking, or using water for brushing teeth, making ice, and preparing food for people and pets.
People in District 10 can learn about the Boiling Water Notice online.
