Southwest Airlines Adds More Flights To Austin-Bergstrom In 2022

AUSTIN, TX – Southwest Airlines plans to add 20 more flights a day at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport from March 2022, airport officials said.
The airline plans to offer a non-stop service between Austin and 46 destinations with up to 105 departures per day, the airport announced on Thursday.

“With this major investment, we have developed a flight schedule that is specifically focused on providing critical non-stop routes and additional frequencies on routes already served for Austin’s business and leisure travelers,” said Dave Harvey, Southwest’s vice president of Southwest Business and Executive Ambassador the airline to Austin. “We would like to thank our customers from the capital for more than 44 years of success and look forward to welcoming more Texans in the center on board our new flights in the coming months.”
In addition to the increased frequencies, Southwest will also add nonstop service from Austin to nine new and returning destinations. These daily non-stop destinations starting March 10 include Charleston, North Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; Mittelland; Amarillo and Ontario, Canada.
Additional service beginning March 12th includes Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (subject to required regulatory approvals) and seasonal weekly connections to Panama City, Florida; Sarasota / Bradenton, Florida and Destin / Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, owned and operated by the City of Austin, is the second fastest growing midsize airport in the United States.
The airport is also an “economic engine” in central Texas, providing over 74,000 direct and indirect jobs in the central Texas region, officials said.
