AUSTIN, TX – Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement on Friday following the June employment numbers released by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) showing continued economic expansion as Texas employers created 55,800 jobs during the month, which marked an increase in employment in 13 of the last 14 months as the unemployment rate fell to 6.5 percent as more Texans returned to the job market.
“The Texan economy is booming. Businesses are investing in the Lone Star State at record speed because we’ve created a framework that allows free enterprise to flourish and hardworking Texans to flourish, ”said Governor Abbott.
