Our next Music in the Park is tonight from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Pfluger Park with LaDezz. LaDezz describes itself as a musical powerhouse based in San Antonio, Texas, comprised of brothers Mark & David Ledesma and Lisa Mar. Since the group’s inception in 2016, they have released a steady stream of original music and are with theirs. energetic, varied performances have become a crowd favorite. When asked how they would describe their music, they simply answered “real”.
Tonight is also the end of our Park and Recreation Month celebrations and we will be handing out exclusive loot with our 9 year old Mabel, the winner of the Art Meet Parks competition! It’s going to be a night of fun and free entertainment. Entry is free, so bring lounge chairs, pets, blankets, picnic baskets, friends and neighbors for a free evening of music, entertainment, and relaxation.
During the concert, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to upcoming voter-approved park bond projects, including neighborhood park development, hiking trails improvement, and 1849 Park Phase 2. For more information, visit pflugervilletx.gov/parksbond.
At its July 27 meeting, Pflugerville City Council approved 11 design and engineering firms to help develop plans for 14 parks and transportation projects included in the 2020 General Commitment Bonds program. The involvement of these advisors marks the start of the city’s largest voter-approved loan program and will affect all of Pflugerville residents.

The next step for Transportation Bond projects will be an application for qualification of engineering services for additional road rehabilitation projects and FM 685 corridor improvements in August and September. An updated timeline can be found at pflugervilletx.gov/bonds.
At their meeting this week, the city council briefly discussed the EMS services and finally decided not to allow 5 million promissory notes. The council also requested a meeting with the District # 2 Emergency Services Board in August. Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services is offering a $ 20 discount at the shelter. The Pflugerville Animal Shelter is a great place to adopt a new family pet!

Teen scavenger hunt – The Pflugerville Public Library invites teenagers ages 12 to 18 to explore Pflugerville and win a $ 50 Black Pearl Books gift card. Follow the directions, take a photo at each location and upload the images to get your chance to win. This event runs Sunday August 1 through Sunday August 15 at Pfluger Park, Gilleland Creek Park and downtown Pflugerville. Visit the library website for more information. Surprise craft kits available – From Sunday 1st August you can pick up a surprise craft kit from the Pflugerville public library. Kits for all ages are provided in the library on a first come, first served basis. One craft per person and age group. Instructions are included or available on the library’s YouTube page.
August 9 – Wilbarger Creek Wastewater Interceptor and Sorento Wastewater Interceptor Open House – The city will host a public open house on August 9 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at City Hall, Suite 500, to discuss the Wilbarger Creek Wastewater Interceptor and Sorento Wastewater Interceptor Phase 2 projects. October 5th – National Evening – Registration for this year’s National Night Out on October 5th is now possible.
