September is suicide prevention education month and high school students are struggling with their mental health now more than ever. To address these challenges, JED launched JED High School – an initiative specifically focused on helping high schools strengthen their suicide prevention, mental health and substance abuse prevention programs.
The importance of teen mental health awareness is becoming evident for so many families across the country, especially in a post-pandemic era, and Kendra Scotts Family is no exception. Scott understands the need to raise awareness about mental health, stress, and anxiety in young adults. In response, the brand announced several mental health partnerships during 2021, including grants for Active Minds and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
“Raising three sons is the greatest responsibility of my life, and as a mother, I think it’s so important that my boys know that they are never alone,” says Kendra Scott, Founder and chairwoman of the board. “Through our partnership with JED, my mission is to get this message across to teenagers across the country, offering them resources and mental health protection when they need it most.”
To support the fund, Kendra Scott will activate a summary of changes and a 50 percent free gift of Sun and Moon Charm for the month of September in the brand’s 110+ retail stores – which will benefit the Jed Foundation directly.
“We look forward to partnering with Kendra Scott to reach more high school students with the mental support they need, especially after a turbulent time, “says the Jed Foundation’s chief development officer Adee Shepen. “With your support, we will be able to work with many more high schools to help them strengthen their mental health programs, policies and systems.”
To further support this goal, Kendra Scott also announced a partnership with Universal Pictures’ upcoming blockbuster Dear Evan Hansen 400 tickets available to viewers across the country, shedding light on many of the toughest mental health battles nationwide. The brand will also be displaying “You Will Be Found” murals at its Austin Flagship South Congress, TX and SoHo, NYC locations.

The breathtaking, generational Broadway phenomenon becomes a fast-paced cinema event as a Tony, Grammy and Emmy award winner Ben Platt resumes his role as a fearful, isolated high school student who yearns for understanding and belonging in the midst of the chaos and cruelty of the social media age.
Directed by the renowned filmmaker Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Wonder), the film was written for the big screen by the series’ Tony winner Steven Levenson with music and lyrics from the show’s Oscar®, Grammy and Tony Award winning songwriting team from Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, the greatest showman).
With songs from the Grammy-winning album, including the iconic anthem “You Will Be Found”, “Waving Through a Window”, “For Forever” and “Words Fail”, Dear Evan Hansen six times Oscar® nominated Amy Adams, Oscar® winner Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart), Amandla Stenberg (The hate you give), Colton Ryan (The little voice of Apple TV +), Nick added (Netflix’s atypical), DeMarius Copes (Broadway’s Mean Girls) and Danny Pino (NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).
Dear Evan Hansen is produced by Marc Platt (La La Land, Into the Woods, Mary Poppins Returns) and Adam Siegel (2 Guns, Drive) and becomes executive producer of Michael Bedermann, Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Universal Pictures will distribute the film in all territories.
