Milton R. Meyer

Mr. Milton Ray Meyer died on July 7, 2021 in his San Antonio residence at the age of 78.

He was born on June 12, 1943 in Knippa, Texas to Annie Langner and Alvin Meyer. Ray graduated from Knippa High School in Knippa, Texas in 1961. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Southwest Texas Junior College, Uvalde and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southwest Texas State College (now Texas State University).

Ray served honorably in the Army and Army Reserve from 1961 to 1969

His professional career included employment with the Central Power and Light Company in Corpus Christi and Victoria; Crocker Roofing and Sheet Metal Company of Victoria; Sechrist-Hall Company in Corpus Christi and Austin; and Austech Roof Consultants in Austin and San Antonio, where he retired as a branch manager and project manager in December 2013.

He leaves behind his loving wife Beverly and children Randall Meyer and wife Melissa, their children Jack and Sara from Aledo, Texas; John Miller Meyer and Mrs. Crystal of Uvalde, Texas; Lisa Behrendt and husband Mark from Corpus Christi, Texas; and John Anderson and wife Ruth of Victoria, Texas, and children Carson and Zachary. Also nieces and nephews: Rodney Meyer, Diana Kay Shropshire, Russell Meyer, M’Lissa Meyer, Rachel Lee and Riley Barnes; as well as various great nieces and nephews.

His brothers Walter Meyer and Werner Meyer preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 16 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, 527 N Lovers Ln, Uvalde, Texas 78801

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, 8300 Tezel Road, San Antonio, Texas 78254.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141 or Crossroads Baptist Church, 8300 Tezel Road, San Antonio, TX 78254.

The arrangements are under the direction of the Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde.
