AUSTIN, Texas – Daniel Hinojosa created Lift ATX to help those displaced in East Austin. Hinojosa is still impressed with the response from the community and the growth the gym has enjoyed from it. He is also grateful for the willingness of the members to keep appearing.

“Sometimes I find it hard to really sit back and get all the support because I’m still trying so hard to keep supporting the community,” said Daniel Hinojosa, owner of Lift ATX. “The community continues to show itself, despite all the obstacles many people have faced, not just my business, but many businesses.”

The former teacher quit his job at East Austin Academy to start his business. He loved teaching, but it was time to answer another call to serve others.

“I spent 16 years in training. I’ve been training. I was a consultant. I was a teacher and only ever did it for the Eastside community, ”said Hinojosa. “I mainly looked after young people at risk, people who needed the most help. But like most educators, you burn out and it was time to turn around. “

Lift ATX has grown so much this year that Hinojosa has to expand the space further. He credits filling a void in Austin’s fitness community and providing an inviting space for everyone to invest in their health.

“We’re at a point where we need more gym, but even though we’ve grown so much, there is still a family feeling here in the gym. We closed a void that was clearly needed in East Austin. So if I can offer a safe space, that is the goal in which people feel safe and can come along and be proud of something. “

Lift ATX is located at 1005 Springdale Road in East Austin.
