Governor Abbott addresses the Houston Area Business Coalition’s monthly meeting
Austin, TX (STL.News) Governor Greg Abbott made remarks at the Houston Region Business Coalition’s (HRBC) monthly meeting today, extolling Texas’s economic prowess and providing an update on the state’s thriving business climate. The governor also highlighted the economic achievements of the 87th legislative session and thanked members of HRBC for strengthening the voice of businesses in the Houston area.
“Texas remains America’s promised land for doing business because we offer a business environment that is second to none,” said Governor Abbott. “We worked hard to make sure Texas remained a top business destination and we built that reputation by passing laws during the 87th legislative session that made our business climate even better. We ensured COVID-19 liability protection for companies, passed the liability reform for truck drivers, ensured a balanced budget without tax increases, topped up the unemployment benefit fund and much more. These achievements would not have been possible without the members of the HRBC, who dealt with key issues throughout the session. Thank you HRBC for doing a great job strengthening the voice of businesses in your community – both during and beyond the legislature. They are the entrepreneurs and innovators who make Texas exceptional, and I look forward to our continued collaboration to make Texas the best business state. “
