Green will also take part in the Salmon Sculpture Symposium in room 101 of the EFA building on Friday, October 15, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. He will be giving a presentation and a panel discussion with Emily Wilkinson, Public Art Director of the Texas Tech University System and juror of the 2021 Salmon Sculpture Contest.

About his exhibition “Static” Green says: “My sculpture explores the relationship between form, physics and beauty. As we experience the world, we develop an implicit understanding of the physical laws to which we are bound. Through these common laws, this work connects with the viewer on a level below the threshold of consciousness. When I encounter something that is carefully balanced, in a state of perfect equilibrium, there is some relationship between its fragile state and our own existence. To be in the presence of harmony / symmetry / balance is indescribably moving; maybe because of the display of an ideal, maybe because of the vulnerability of that ideal. The works collected for this exhibition deal with the static representation of dynamic forces. It’s about potential energy, stable instability and elegant friction. “
