Construction is underway on the 480 home development Horizon Lake in Leander, according to a December 3 press release from Taylor Morrison.
Home builders Taylor Morrison and Pulte will build the 200 acre facility near US 183 and RM 2243 along Horizon Park Boulevard. There will be 78 hectares of open space with a 24 hectare lake reservoir, a fishing pier, a pavilion, a play area for children and hiking trails.
Construction on the 200-acre property began in November, according to Taylor Morrison, with the first homes expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of 2022. House prices start in the middle of $ 300,000.

Leander’s city council approved the building work and a development contract for the project in April 2020. Commercial development is planned within Horizon Lake at RM 2243.
