The Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District, a 214-room hotel in the heart of downtown Austin, opens its doors next week August 10th. Developed by Rockbridge and HRI Properties, LLC and with interior design under the direction of Studio 11 Design of Dallas, TX, the chic aesthetic of the hotel captures the colorful Austin feel, with a fresh color palette and locally sourced materials.
Generally: Bar and restaurant on the ground floor, spacious fitness center, extensive roof terrace and two indoor and outdoor conference rooms with incredible views of the city. With a prime location between the Texas Capital Corridor and the University of Texas, the property is a short walk from downtown Austin’s restaurants, bars and music venues on famous 6th Street.
Design: The main lobby features brown leather and earth tones, textured wall coverings, and locally inspired artwork flow seamlessly into the public areas of the property, a nod to the city’s modern, creative spirit and roots as a cattle town.
Guest room: The rooms offer sweeping city views of the University of Texas and the state capital. The unique decor of the guest rooms pays homage to Austin’s eclectic live music scene, with artwork taken from vintage posters from the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Attic on the 17th floor: Guests in the lobby bar enjoy exclusive access to the Apex, the roof terrace on the 17th floor. With impressive views of the University of Texas, Austin Hill Country and the state capital, the chic outdoor area offers plenty of lounge furniture and lawn games and can be reserved for private events for up to 100 guests.
Meeting rooms: Over 4,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including the apex room and rooftop terrace on the 17th floor, both of which have breathtaking views. High vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a cool blue and gold color palette are complemented by elegant wooden tables.
Meal: In the main lobby, which opens onto a covered outdoor patio, the Analog Bar and Restaurant offers diners flavors of downtown Austin, with snacks inspired by the local food trucks for lunch and dinner, cocktails and craft beverages from Texas traders as well as live music. Other dining options include Intro: Early Eatery for breakfast and The Store, which offers locally made and pre-made products from Analog to take away.
