AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) – Life returns to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Since the beginning of the year, activity has picked up, both in the form of passenger travel and in the form of airline commitments.
These metrics, coupled with the metro’s rapidly growing population, have signaled airport officials that it is time to re-address a long-awaited expansion of the facility. Before the pandemic broke out, there were plans to almost double the size of the airport – crucial to keeping up with demand for air travel in a city where the economy barely missed a beat during the pandemic.
