AUSTIN
Wanted input from business owners
Austin’s Economic Development Department launched the Small Business Needs Assessment 2021 and is encouraging business owners across the city to get involved in helpaustinthrive.com.
The city has partnered with Austin-based Distance Learning Media LLC to manage the 2021 study with a link to a public survey and citywide public campaign. The aim is to involve companies of all sizes and from all sectors in all parts of the city.
Companies can take a survey or take part in a virtual event. Five virtual events are planned:
• An event for restaurants and catering takes place on Tuesdays from 2pm to 3pm.
• An event for art and creative people will take place on Friday from 2pm to 3pm.
• A travel and tourism event will take place on September 1st from 1pm to 2pm.
• An event for green, environmentally friendly companies will take place on September 9th from 2pm to 3pm.
• An event for musicians and music-related companies will take place on September 14 from 2 to 3 pm.
Any local business owner can attend any virtual event. Each session contains specific industry topics for key groups. The results of the 2021 Small Business Needs Assessment will help shape the city’s roadmap for delivering business education to local businesses over the next few years.
