We spoke to Austin Hedges, the catcher of the Cleveland Indians, on Beyond the Dugout to reveal his weirdness.

For the first time that year, the outfield player was in the spotlight when catcher Austin Hedges answered Chudowski’s question. Backcatchers are considered defensive specialists on the field. In his second season with the Indians, he was thrown into a false and starting role because of Roberto Perez and a hand injury. Hedges is not known for offense but was a huge hit with the tribe, including a double home run in a match in which the Indians defeated the White Sox last week. Did Chudowski think it was a layman to ask a Californian if he wanted to go on a vacation to the beach or to go skiing?
“Believe it or not, I’m not a beach guy. I wish I had a nice ski vacation, ”said Hedges.
What is his favorite food?
“I love ice cream. You give me ice cream. Chocolate. I can’t say no.”
