A road rehabilitation project begins on N Pleasant Valley Road on Monday June 21st. from Prado St. to Willow St. The process involves a mill and an overlay on Pleasant Valley Road. with new asphalt. The project will be carried out in two phases and is expected to take around 10 weeks for the weather to be favorable.

  • Phase 1 boundaries are from Prado Street to 7th Street.
The work can be carried out on Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Phase 2 boundaries are from 7th Street to Willow Street.
The work can be carried out Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The road will remain open to traffic and some lanes will be closed during construction. Traffic can be rerouted at times to keep up with construction progress. Access to the driveways will always be available. Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution in the work area. As soon as the asphalt material is paved, rolled and compacted, vehicles can drive (slowly) on the new lane. The crews will put pavement markings and strips on shortly after the paving.

What to expect when building roads:

  • Cars shouldn’t park on the street; parked cars are towed onto a nearby street; Contact Project Inspector Charles Hernandez at 210-246-3081
  • Follow all traffic signs, cones and markings in the work area to guide you
  • Reduce speed, drive slowly, and watch the work crews during operation

The plans are projected as accurately as possible, but may change due to construction and weather.

This project is made possible by the electoral approved loan 2018 (Proposition G). To learn more about Austin’s road renewal programs, visit austintexas.gov/streetandbridge or call 3-1-1.
