1. Maaribu home furnishings and furnishings store celebrated its grand opening on July 24th at 3402 Guadalupe St., Austin. The furniture in the showroom is inspired by Scandinavian styles; Malibu, California; and Marfa. 3. The upscale bar, club and restaurant, Wax Myrtle’s, will open in November on the fourth floor of the upcoming Thompson Hotel, 506 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin. The bar has large outdoor and indoor areas with a pool. The restaurant serves modern American dishes. www.waxmyrtles.com
4. The Khazana closed its downtown location at 900 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin in late July after 17 years in business. The company’s other location is at 9327 Hwy. 71 is still open.
