Man killed retrieving fallen load from Southeast Austin roadway

Austin, Texas – A man was killed in a car accident trying to retrieve an object that had fallen on the road.
Austin Police have identified Miguel Guerrero-Garcia as the deceased who died on June 29th at 8300 block on E. Ben White Blvd. had a fatal accident.
Police say a 2014 white Jeep Wrangler and a panel van were flowing into the center lane at the same time around E. Ben White’s 8300 block. The driver’s side of the jeep collided with the passenger side of the van.

Austin police stayed at the site of a fatal car accident for hours this afternoon.
APD says that accident resulted in the jeep pulling into the outside lane, where Miguel Guerrero-Garcia was removing bags of mulch from the lane that had fallen from his trailer. The jeep drove into Miguel Guerrero-Garcia and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is Austin’s 55th fatal road accident in 2021 that resulted in 57 deaths for the year. At the time of this crash in 2020, there were 40 fatal accidents with 42 fatalities.
