TEXAS —Every year Travel + Leisure magazine lets its readers choose the most desirable places in the world by voting. The poll, known as the World’s Best Awards, took place between January 11th and May 10th this year and below the categories is a list ranking that determined the top 15 travel destinations in the USA
Three of the 15 are here in Texas.
The cities were rated according to sights and landmarks, friendliness, cuisine and overall value.
San Antonio ranked highest at sixth, followed by Fort Worth at 12 and Austin at 13.
The annual poll collects the travel experiences of readers around the world and asks them to share their thoughts on top cities, spas, airlines, and more.
Southern cities continue to dominate the list due to the hospitality, food, and architecture of the south. Charleston, South Carolina topped the list for the ninth year in a row.
Other cities on the list are Savannah, Georgia (3); New York, New York (5); Honolulu, Hawaii (10); and Nashville, Tennessee (11).
