  • Austin Ekeler is questionable against Washington on Sunday but is expected to play.
  • However, his hamstring injury could affect how many snaps he plays.
  • Our fantasy football experts have updated their rankings to reflect its status.

When Austin Ekeler showed up on the NFL injury report on Wednesday with a hamstring problem, it was an instant concern for fantasy football managers.

However, it seems that the news for the chargers, which have been running back since then, has gotten better every day.

According to the NFL Network, Disgust will play today provided there are no setbacks during the warm-up. He didn’t train on Wednesday or Thursday but apparently was good enough on Friday to instill confidence that he can play on Sunday.

The Chargers travel to Washington to take on a formidable defense for the Washington Football team. This matchup, coupled with every health issue, makes Disgust a tough decision for fantasy managers given their week 1 lineups.

Ekeler’s injury label has moved him down on The Action Network’s fantasy football consensus rankings, where he sits 23rd for the week. Before the injury, he was RB13 for a week, according to expert Sean Körner.

As soon as more information about Ekeler’s status becomes known, the fantasy rankings will be updated accordingly.

The betting line was active for the game. The Chargers opened as a 1-point favorite against Washington, but the line has turned to the soccer team as a 2-point favorite.

There are also some 2.5s on the market.

Ekeler is set to play after missing training with an Achilles tendon injury. The 26-year-old running back missed six games in 2020 due to hamstring and knee problems.

Ian Rapoport on the NFL Network’s GameDay Morning reported that Ekeler will be “kicking off” against Washington this week and that his previous absences were “precautionary”.

Even against a tough Washington defense, start him off as a low-end RB1.
